Leisure membership prices have been frozen by North East Derbyshire District Council despite soaring energy costs, giving a helping hand to residents (throughout) the district.
Despite rising energy costs, the council has been able to make sure customers are not paying any extra for their memberships, due to sound financial management of the centres.
The authority has invested heavily in its leisure centres, with three of them undergoing refurbishments in recent years, most recently Killamarsh Active which saw £1.9m invested and a new centre in the pipeline in Clay Cross, they offer excellent value for money.
With membership prices starting from just £23 (for a flex 1 membership), and are commitment free, meaning customers are not tied into long term contracts and allow users to choose what activities suit them, giving them the ultimate control over their finances and how they use it.
One membership gives them access to all four centres in the district, which are some of the greenest and efficient centres in the county after Eckington and Dronfield (currently) undergoing decarbonisation works, meaning the customer can be assured that they are helping the environment whilst keeping active.
North East Derbyshire District Council Cabinet Member for Leisure, Cllr Alan Powell said, “Helping our residents during the cost of living crisis is one of our key priorities and we are proud that our facilities are affordable places to visit.
They are vital cornerstones of our communities, helping generations of residents learn to swim – a vital life skill and free for the under 5’s and our
café’s provide the perfect opportunity to meet friends for a cuppa and a catch up.
From just £23 a month, people can use any of our leisure facilities at Dronfield Sports Centre, Eckington Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, Sharley Park Leisure Centre, Clay Cross, and the newly refurbished Killamarsh Active, with no joining fee, a free induction and no commitment contracts available.
