Council jobs fair set to boost residents and businesses opportunities

North East Derbyshire District Council is hosting a jobs fair event at Sharley Park Leisure Centre on 7 November to help local people find work.

The jobs fair will host a number of local and national businesses who have vacancies in many areas including apprentices, carers, construction, engineers, hospitality, local government, security and support workers to name but a few.

One of the renewed Council Plan’s objectives is to attract and retain skilled jobs within our friendly rural district. This is one of many initiatives planned to help both businesses attract new, local, hungry talent, and for residents to have opportunities and access to jobs and work.

Councillor Thacker, Leader of North East Derbyshire District Council said: “We are delighted to present this opportunity to our businesses and residents. It enables us to recruit local and talented individuals, whilst supporting and developing local businesses. We want to work with our residents helping them find the right vacancies and careers for them, and are extremely passionate about helping our people work together and network with each other to create a fantastic, thriving and productive community”.

The jobs fair has already seen many businesses sign up to attend and promote their vacancies. Rykneld Homes, Casa and Peak Edge Hotel, Central Medical Services, Exclusive Security, Clee Hill Plant Hire, Bombardier, HR Go, Vision for Education, Inspire Design and Development, Search Consultancy (Warehouse / delivery vacancies), apprentice and traineeships from Enable, Complete Care Chesterfield and CS2 transport have signed up and will be attending, with over 150 vacancies already available.
