Discretionary grant fund for small businesses in NE Derbyshire

Our new online application helps small businesses in the District gain access to the Discretionary Grants Fund, providing they are not eligible for the Small Business Grant Fund, the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Fund or other central government support schemes.

Grants of £25,000, £10,000 and under £10,000 are available depending on the relative costs borne by businesses.

The funding will be a huge help to many small businesses who had not been eligible for other schemes during the coronavirus pandemic and is open to applications from 1 June 2020.

Businesses are advised to visit the authority’s website and read the Discretionary Grants Fund guidance document to check their eligibility before completing the application form.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Martin Thacker, MBE, said, “The Local Authority Discretionary Grants Fund will be a lifeline to some of our small businesses that have not been eligible for funding so far during the coronavirus pandemic”.

“As an authority we will do all we can to support our local economy, to help our businesses back on their feet and start thriving again”.

“This grant scheme will help our small and micro-businesses who have suffered a significant fall in income due to COVID-19 and I urge these businesses to read the guidance document to check their eligibility and get in touch for financial help and support. We are all in this together”.

The Local Authority Discretionary Fund is open until 12 June 2020 at which point the scheme will be reviewed to see if an extension is possible. The application form and Discretionary Grants Fund Guidance can be found on the authority’s website www.ne-derbyshire.gov.uk
