Transformational changes for Eckington Town centre - fill out our survey!

North East Derbyshire District Council, in partnership with Eckington Parish Council and Derbyshire County Council are seeking to create transformational changes for Eckington town centre.

The team have undertaken work to prepare a series of options for key sites in the town alongside viability appraisals in order to prepare funding bid from the government to help level up the district.

The Council has been working with its partners, and the local MP Lee Rowley to develop a masterplan that can form the basis of a Levelling Up bid, and the results are the draft options for
interventions to improve Eckington town centre and The Town Park at Lansbury Road recreational grounds. The following plans illustrate a range of possible approaches.

Thank you to those that came along to the consultation event on 10 June at Eckington Civic Centre, where you viewed the plans in person and spoke to members of our team.

We encourage you to take the time to look through the Eckington consultation options (.pdf | 5mb) and let us know your views and what you like and dislike, as these will be used to form the final preferred option that will make up our application.

You can have your say on our online survey - the survey closes on Friday 17th so be sure to have your say before then! We will leave the survey open so you can still provide your opinions but entries after the 17th won't be counted towards the bid.

The deadline for Levelling Up applications is 6th July 2022, with a decision likely to be made by government in the Autumn. Fingers crossed we are successful!
