Exclusive Renishaw Hall tour rolls in funds for Chairman’s charity

Renishaw Hall was the venue for a fundraising evening in aid of the Chairman of North East Derbyshire's Appeal for Ashgate Hospice. Guests were able to see the Jam Roll, a Rolls Royce presented to the founder of Scouting, Lord Robert Baden-Powell.

Baden-Powell's wife Olave had a close association with Renishaw Hall.

The car was on show to give guests a last opportunity to get close up to the historic vehicle before it goes to a museum.

During a reception guests were entertained by local talented singer, Debi Alvey while sampling wine from the Hall's own vineyard.

There was then an exclusive guided tour to learn more about the house and the Sitwell family.

Chairman, Councillor Martin Thacker said: "I am grateful to Alexandra Sitwell for allowing us to visit her wonderful home. Everyone had a fantastic evening while raising money for a worthy cause at the same time."
