Job opportunities boost for residents of North East Derbyshire

North East Derbyshire District Council are set to give a boost to local residents' employment prospects with the launch of their first ever virtual jobs fair via social media on 30 June 2020.

The jobs available include Adult Social Care, retail, admin and security and there will also be apprenticeship opportunities for anyone who wishes to take part, including school leavers.

The Council has had to think out of the box to ensure the jobs fair was able to go ahead – on social media as the Covid-19 pandemic stopped any physical location of the event.

Employers and training providers were quick to support the online event as a platform where many could attend and there is expected to be hundreds of opportunities advertised from local companies to national during the two-hour event.

The fair will be a fantastic boost for the District and invaluable for people looking to get back into work who may have lost their job due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This jobs and training fair will be held online for the first time and will enable those who may not have been able to get to a physical venue the opportunity to see what jobs are on offer.
