Members and users of Dronfield Sports Centre will soon be able to re-fuel after their workout as plans are being prepared to install a café at the centre. The Council’s Cabinet have agreed to the investment after a recent customer satisfaction survey revealed a need for a café in the facility.
The proposed café, which is currently being developed, will include a servery for hot and cold food and drinks including tea/coffee, shakes, smoothies and sandwiches, cooler displays with ‘Grab and Go’ options, a viewing area of the pool and a buggy park.
Dronfield Sports Centre has over 28,000 monthly visits and the Council see this as the next natural step in providing users with a place to relax and socialise after their workout.
Council Leader Councillor Graham Baxter MBE said, “We have invested heavily in Dronfield Sports Centre recently and it is now returning a profit for us which is great. But we cannot rest on our laurels and we need to keep investing, developing and listening to customer feedback to make sure what we offer is what our customers want.
“Although providing sports and fitness activities is our main priority, social isolation is a key concern for us so we see the café as a great community social place where people can come and meet for a chat and a cuppa.
