The ongoing regeneration of Clay Cross moves into an exciting new phase with the appointment of consultants Nexus for the preparation of a Clay Cross Investment Plan.
Nexus will begin their work immediately and will deliver the Investment Plan to the Town Board. Critical to the success of the Investment Plan is the input of residents and businesses of Clay Cross and a thorough consultation exercise will take place in the coming months.
The Investment Plan will provide the information required for North East Derbyshire District Council to bid into the national Government’s £3.6bn Towns Fund.
Clay Cross is one of 101 locations invited to bid into this fund and it provides a major opportunity to build on what has been achieved in the town so far.
To drive and guide the vision for the town, North East Derbyshire District Council has formed a Clay Cross Town Board, bringing together partners across the public and private sectors, with board members who are invested in Clay Cross and are passionate about its ongoing transformation into a thriving market town.
Leader of North East Derbyshire District Council, Councillor Martin Thacker, MBE, said, “We are delighted to be working with Nexus to deliver the Clay Cross Investment Plan. They have a proven track record of success and we are confident they will provide what is needed to secure significant investment for Clay Cross”.
“It is incredibly important the right plan is put in place for the town, with input from residents and businesses alike to work together and create a success bid for the Governments town fund which Clay Cross deserves to create new opportunities and investment”.
