Paddy Kenny night draws the crowds and raises over £3,000 for charity

The Technique Stadium was the venue for an evening with Paddy Kenny in aid of the Chairman of North East Derbyshire's Appeal for Ashgate Hospice.

Paddy is a former Republic of Ireland International goalkeeper who played over 600 league games for the likes of Bury, Sheffield United, Leeds and QPR.

A capacity crowd was enthralled as Paddy outlined career highlights, which has seen him play with fantastic players, coached by some inspirational managers and experience amazing footballing moments.

North East Derbyshire District Council Chairman, Councillor Martin Thacker said: "Paddy Kenny is a great speaker who had everyone on the edge of their seats with a 'no holds barred' approach to sharing stories from his time as a professional footballer”.

“I am grateful to him and event sponsor, Craig Furniss for ensuring a night to remember."

The event included an auction for signed goalkeeping gloves, a unique canvas portrait of Paddy Kenny and a golfing experience with the Blades' legend.

A total of £3180 was raised for the Hospice.
