Residents came to chat with the Leader and officers at North East Derbyshire District Council at the two drop-in events in Eckington and Clay Cross.
The events were well attended and the questions were answered openly from Councillors.
Departments from the authority were also in attendance offering help and advice, job support and networking opportunities for businesses.
Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Alan Powell said, “The events were a great success and a fantastic way for us to get out into the communities and chatting to our residents”.
“We made a manifesto commitment to host events where the public can come and engage with us and it has been fantastic to be able to do so, despite these events having to be delayed due to covid-19 and we have met some wonderful people”.
“Our officers have given numerous residents help and advice, from helping with benefit claims to supporting local charities and groups and it was fantastic to meet members of the deaf community to share with them the councils commitment to the British Sign Language charter and also extend the offer to work with the deaf community in future service design.”
