Winter wonderland Christmas fair raises £3000 for Ashgate Hospicecare

Father Christmas provided a lending hand to help raise funds for the Chairman's Appeal for Ashgate Hospice. 

Councillor Martin Thacker, Chairman of the Council, staged a Christmas Fair at Chesterfield Football Club's Technique Stadium. 

There was a varied selection of stalls to help visitors purchase special gifts for the festive season. 

There was yuletide entertainment from Chesterfield Male Voice Choir and Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Brass Band. 

Father Christmas proved to a popular visitor, whose grotto was extremely busy throughout the event. 

Councillor Thacker said: "I am very grateful to all those who organised and supported the fundraising event.  As ever, Chesterfield Football Club has been a fantastic help. 

The Christmas Fair realised an amount of £3,000 for my Appeal for Ashgate Hospice.  What a great start to the season of giving."
