The North East Derbyshire Local Plan was submitted for examination on Thursday 24 May 2018. Inspector Sarah Housden BA (Hons) MRTPI from the Planning Inspectorate was appointed by the Secretary of State to carry out the independent examination of the Local Plan (2014-2034).
Her task was to consider whether the Local Plan had been prepared in accordance with the relevant legal requirement and if the plan was sound, based on the criteria set out in the National Planning Policy Framework.
Public Hearings sessions took place in November/December 2018 and March 2019. Following which the Inspector identified a number of Main Modifications to the Plan, that she considered necessary to address issues of soundness and/or legal compliance.
Public consultation on the proposed modifications took place between 2 November 2020 and 31 January 2021.
The Inspector considered the issues raised in the representations before finalising her report, which was received by the Council on 19 July 2021 and can be viewed on the Inspector's Report (New) page
