Ukrainian Welcome

To reflect the Council’s support and solidarity for the people of Ukraine during this difficult time we have produced a Welcome Pack which provides useful information to the Guests and their Hosts on how to access services within the area and will shortly be sent to households within the District that are hosting Ukrainian Guests through the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.

Our booklet is available in both English and Ukrainian languages below.

Welcome to our district (.pdf | 2.0 mb) (English)

Welcome to our district (Ukr) (.pdf. 2.0 mb) (Ukrainian)

Welcome to our district (Rus) (.pdf | 6mb) (Russian)

The Homes for Ukraine Scheme is open to Ukrainian nationals and their immediate family members, who are sponsored by UK households to come to the UK for at least six months. Ukrainian guests will be able to live and work in the UK for up to three years and access benefits, healthcare, employment, and other support.

The Council is working with the Derbyshire County who are leading the Support for Ukraine.

If you would like to help be a host or sponsor, please visit the County Council website where you can find out more and register your interest.

At the current time this includes the North East Derbyshire District Council Environmental Health Team taking a lead in developing a consistent countywide process for accommodation safety checks (that is now available for other councils to adopt across the country), whilst more locally we are offering free use of our swimming and gym facilities to our Ukrainian guests.

Our Customer Services Team is also making a courtesy call to all hosts to ensure that they are aware that we will support them where it is within our powers to do so.
