Fitness Suite

Our fitness suites provide the latest equipment and state-of-the-art technology. They include resistance units and cardio-vascular cycles, steppers, treadmills, cross-trainers and rowers which allow you to enjoy your workout at any level. Our resistance units are specially designed to allow easy access for people with disabilities.

All customers who wish to use the fitness suite need to have had an induction to run through the safety aspects of the equipment and how to train safely. You can book your induction at the leisure facility reception.

Fitness Classes

Our fitness classes provide the perfect environment for you to keep fit with our wide range of group exercise. Our classes cater for any ability, from beginners to advanced. The programme is reviewed regularly to ensure that we are offering the right classes at the right times and introducing new classes to members and casual users.

Our 2024 classes include:

Barbell Fitness Barbell-based workout that’s designed to help you get lean, toned and fit.

Block Fit An all-in-one fitness class that fuses dance, combat, high and low interval training with yoga inspired moves and meditation.

Body Burn High intensity interval training session. Add new challenges to your workout and increase endurance.

Cardio Combat Whole-body workout Punch and kick your way towards your fitness goals.

Clubbercise A fun full body workout with a banging soundtrack. Not suitable for anyone with photosensitive epilepsy.

CORE 30 minute class for developing and strengthening the muscles in the abdomen and lower back.

Full-body workout/ Kettlebells An all-over body workout incorporating calorie burning, cardiovascular, strength and body toning exercises.

Learn to Lift A gym based session for beginners to resistance training. Improving knowledge of how to effectively train parts of the body.

Legs, Bums and Tums High and low impact exercise to music led by the fitness instructor.

Metabolic Accelerator Boost your metabolism and burn calories at a higher rate. Involving short bursts of high-intensity activity, followed by brief periods of rest.

Studio Cycle High energy calorie burning workout on the indoor cycles, gets the heart pumping.

Strength Classes Improve muscle strength, core stability and posture.

Sweat45 & Sweat30 A high intensity session which focuses on cardiovascular, resistance and core exercises.

Zumba Latin inspired dance fitness workout.

Chair-based Yoga Find mobility in a way that is soft and gentle but also really supportive and beneficial. Promoting better posture and energy flow.

Seated Dance Sessions - Aimed at older people and those with long-term health conditions, the classes are inclusive and are suitable for wheelchair users and others with mobility issues

Yoga Linked with a focus on breathing, this Eastern Art incorporates strength and flexibility to help develop an inner sense of well being.

Pilates Helps improve posture and movement by strengthening and balancing all the muscles of the body.

Chair-based Exercise Low impact exercise to music.

Forever FIT Low intensity workout both seated and standing aimed at improving strength and stability.

Junior Gym Supervised gym session providing a safe and effective fitness workout.

Low Impact Circuits Low intensity workout incorporating calorie burning, cardiovascular, strength and body toning exercises.

Stretch and Tone Tone your muscles, increase your range of motion and flexibility.

Aqua Jog A great resistance and fitness work-out without any impact on joints.

Aquacise Water based Aerobics class, improve muscle toning and calorie burning as well as reducing the impact on the joints.

Les Mills - Virtual Fitness Instructor Programme

Les Mills virtual instructor programme available at Eckington Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre. All virtual classes are now included within all Flex, JDM corporate and Unlimited memberships. Classes are available to book on Leisure Hub. Classes include:

With the support of a chair, the benefits of yoga become accessible to even more people regardless of age, flexibility levels, injuries or mobility issues. Chair yoga involves modifying poses so they can be done while seated.
