Skin Piercing

The Local Government Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 Part VIII requires registration to cover both the person and the premises, if you wish to undertake any / all of the following:

  • Tattooing
  • Piercing
  • Acupuncture
  • Electrolysis

The applicant must ensure that the procedures, equipment and facilities used for the above purposes comply fully with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Registration Fees

The cost of registering:

  • premises: £76.50
  • an individual licence: £76.50

It is illegal to conduct body piercing, tattooing, acupuncture or electrolysis until the registration has been formally approved.
