The sun was out for the council’s Family Fun Day in support of the Armed Forces and SSAFA at Mill Lane.
There were hundreds of families and residents in attendance which helped make this such a successful event.
From the Armed Forces organisations, the entertainers, the activity organisers, the dog show organisers, the craft stall holders and the refreshment stall holders, they were all so busy with all the people that came to support the event.
We would like to thank everyone that came, especially the children from Deer Park School in Wingerworth who sang beautifully. Special thanks to our neighbours for your patience and understanding due to the overwhelming numbers who had come from wide and far to support the event.
Happily the weather stayed warm and sunny, which made up for the lack of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flypast due to technical difficulties.
