International Women’s Day – 8 March

International Women’s Day is a global event, celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

To celebrate the day, meet the following inspirational women we have working at North East Derbyshire District Council, who make a difference to our communities every single day!

From those just starting out on their careers, to those more established in their roles.

holly

Hollie Towl works in refuse – the only woman we have working the 57-strong team in NE Derbyshire.

Hollie said: “I’d recommend it as a job. It’s the perfect job really if you want to stay fit.

“Don’t be scared to do it just because you’re a girl!”

Julie said: On my training course it was me and 17 men!
